Who needs a hole in the head?
She already has too many shoes. She needs another pair like a hole in the head.
这就是我们今天要讲的英语成语:like a hole in the head.
If you say that you need something or someone like a hole in the head, you are emphasizing that you do not want them and that they would only add to the problems that you already have. (Collins Dictionary)
最常见的形式是:need something like a hole in the head,意思就是you definitely do not need something; you don’t need it at all.
I need this like I need a third armpit.
I need this like I need a tooth pulled
I need this like I need another pair of legs
I need this like I
need a heart attack.
If you say that you need something or someone like a hole in the head, you mean that you do not need or want them at all.
