- etc
- and so on
- and so on and so forth
What have you.
要么是 What do you have?[美国],要么是 What have you got?[英国]吧?
What have you的意思就是 etc., and so on.
“What have you” is used at the end of a list of things to mean other things of a similar kind.
例句:
The shelves were crammed with books, documents, and what have you. (Longman Dictionary)
例句:
The problem is we’re all so busy right now – with conferences and what have you. (Macmillan Dictionary)
…and what have you才是正确的用法,这个and不能省略。
就像and so on一样,你不能只说 so on.
例句:
There were a couple of bags full of old records, magazines, and what have you.
(New Yorker).
读者如有了解what have you词源的,肯请告知。
- etc (et cetera)
- and son on
- and so forth
- and so on and so forth
- and the like
- things like that
- whatnot
- what all
- and all that
