The Doomsday Clock is a symbol that represents the likelihood of a man-made global catastrophe.

简单说就是把世界的存在时间比作一天， midnight（午夜）代表终点、末日，用24小时刻度表示今天的我们处在哪个点。

这个概念1947年由Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists （原子科学家公告组织）发起。
初始时刻设定为 23:53（seven minutes to midnight）。
