Founded in 2009 by the Australian photographer Korske Ara, the date of
the 19th was chosen to celebrate World Photo Day as it is the date that
the patent of the daguerreotype (an early method of photography) was
purchased by the French government, it is also the same day as World

十年前由澳大利亚摄影师Korske Ara创办。因为8月19日这天是“达盖尔银版照片术”(daguerrotype)专利被法国政府买下的日期，也是世界人道主义日。
