第1034期：左眼跳财的世界迷信 – eyelid twitching superstitions

每个人都听过“左眼跳财，右眼跳灾”这种说法，各地可能版本不同，但说的都是同一件事，认为人的眼皮跳能预示吉凶。

今天我们就来聊聊这个世界各地都有的大迷信。

眼皮跳这种现象的英文叫 eyelid twitching，这个动词“跳”的英文就是 twitch.

还记得我们昨天刚讲过的 curtain twitcher 吗？

也有把眼皮跳简单说成 eye jump 的，也是英语中存在的说法，但不够准确。这时候一般会给 jump加个引号，表示是一个比喻。

眼皮跳这种生理现象更专业的医学术语叫 myokymia（肌纤维颤搐），是眼皮肌肉不自主的痉挛（involuntary spasm of the eyelid muscles），所以也叫 eyelid spasm.

眼皮跳的生理成因很多，可能是过度疲劳，或者压力太大、眼部干涩，或者眼部疾病导致的，但古往今来，世界各国都无一例外地把这种不好解释的现象跟命运的吉凶祸福联系在了一起。
