第2052期：外企里的 self introduction

外企开会如果有重要访客在场，一般都会从自我介绍开始。内部培训更是每次都以self introduction作为破冰的第一步。

我估计很少有人会认真听别人的自我介绍吧，因为每个人在介绍自己的时候，其他人都在心里默默打腹稿准备自己的self introduction.

Edgar Watson 有句名言：

“No man would listen to you talk if he didn’t know it was his turn next.”

你回忆一下看是不是这样，一场集体自我介绍结束后，你记住了几个人的名字、专业、职务、兴趣或特征？我一般喜欢注意头发好看的人，轮到他们介绍时我就会注意听，嗯，我就是个以发取人的人。参加过一次最奇特的公司领导力培训，一共24个人，10女14男，其中8个光头，三个秃顶……我一个名字也没记住。

不同场合的self introduction形式不同，取决于会议组织者的设定和说明。如果主持人说请每个人用一句话简单介绍一下自己，名字、部门，轮到每个人时就会变成这样的场景：

John Wang, marketing

Joy Liu, BD

Vincent Jiang, IT

…

一屋子名字和部门缩写，基本跟没介绍一样。

培训的场合，自我介绍一般都会有格式或模板，例如：姓名、部门、一句话工作职能简介、自己最大的爱好，或说一件你希望大家记住你表明你与众不同的点。

“Hello, my name is Janhavi Saha, and I am the new project manager for your team.

After completing my education in project management, I have earned over 10 years of experience managing construction projects.

I am excited to get to know everyone and begin optimising efficiency and creative thinking strategies for this project.” (indeed.com)

在很多场合，你的自我介绍就是你给别人留下的第一印象，应该重视。建议你准备两三个适合不同场合的英文self introduction，背下来，排练熟，用的时候张口就来，不需要现场打腹稿紧急默念排练而不听其他人介绍自己。

Self introduction建议包括下列要件：

Your basic information – name, profession. 基本信息

Your background 背景（职业相关）

Your personality (仅适合培训场合）

Mind your body language – smile, hand gesture, eye contact, etc. （身体语言配合语速语调）

Express good will（Glad to know you; I am happy to be able to meet you in person finally.)
