第508期：“废话”英语怎么说？

今天我们来讲一个很好玩的词：duh.意思就是口语中的“废话！”（语气词）

Duh的发音是 /dɜː/或者/dʌ/.

这个词很怪，据说是来自捷克语的单词。也有人说这个词是模仿了某些智障人士在听到一句话时的那种反应的声音。

先看一下英语解释：

Disdainful indication that something is obvious. Indication of mock stupidity. 对很明显的事物表示鄙视的语气词，表示对一句蠢话的讽刺。

再来看用法：

Duh is used to show that you think a person or statement is stupid, or that something is obvious.

来看几个例句，体会一下。

It’s hot in the desert. – Well, duh! 沙漠里真热啊。- 呃，废话！

“A lot of people care about money.” “Well, duh.” 很多人都很在乎钱。呃，这不废话吗？

两个朋友的对话：

A: I’m getting older. 我老了。
B: Duh. And uglier. 可不是吗。还丑了呢。

好个损友。

英语中还有个习惯用语 You don’t say. 在某些场合也可以表示类似duh的意思，这个我们以后再专题讲一期吧。
