第295期：spoiler 剧透的悲剧

今天我们来聊一个词：spoiler — 剧透。

之所以想到说这个词，是因为刚听到的一则新闻。说南极出现了有史以来第一起凶杀案，两名南极科考队员无事可做，只能每日看小说。其中一人频频剧透，终于因为剧透了另一个人在看的小说结局，被对方恼怒之下捅死。

Spoiler有很多意思，其中一个意思就是“剧透”这种行为。

来看英文解释：

Spoiler is information about the plot of a motion picture or TV program that can spoil a viewer’s sense of surprise or suspense.

为什么spoiler是剧透，就因为spoil这个词的本意就是“搞砸”、“搅局”、“扫兴”。这层意思是90年代才增加的。

有些影评文章会在开头或题目中注明spoiler alert，意思就是“文中有剧透”，提醒读者谨慎，自己决定是不是要读。

A spoiler alert is a reviewer’s warning that a plot spoiler is about to be revealed.

昨天佛老看了一部电影”Searching 2018″，很喜欢，就上IMDb写观后感，评分9分。观后感写完提交前，IMDb会问你“Does this review contail spoilers?”，你必须选择yes或no才能提交。（影评的英语就叫movie review）
