第311期：cigarette trousers

前几天我们讲过一期服装专题还记得吗？第304期：pantsuit长裤女套装。今天我们来学另一个服装方面的词：cigarette trousers. 能猜出意思吗？

Cigarette trousers也叫cigarette pants。如果你经常在一些品牌连锁店买裤子，应该还见过另一种说法：slim-fit pants. 以Gap的牛仔裤为例，一般分几个版型：straight, slim, slim-fit, skinny.

下图就是典型的cigarette trousers/pants (trousers和pants的区别仅仅是前者英国英语更常用，后者多见于美国英语，但其实美国的杂志上也经常写cigarette trousers.）

那么cigarette trousers究竟是什么呢？

英语定义有点长，但很精确：Cigarette Pants are one of the hottest trends in women’s clothing these
days. They are typically slim fitted pants with a snug fit through the
legs, ending in a small leg opening usually an inch or two above the
ankles. Unlike other trousers, cigarette pants feature a straight
opening at the foot rather than a tapperd or flared ending（喇叭裤脚）.

综合上面这段描述，cigarette trousers/pants准确的意思是：窄脚紧身九分裤。其实就是俗话说的“铅笔裤”，因此cigarette pants也叫pencil pants. 铅笔裤就是这样直译来的。cigarette和pencil都很形象，形容这种裤型紧贴双腿。

这种裤型星期于1950年代的美国，当时很多明星都喜欢这种裤子，例如猫王和梦露。到了1960年代，喇叭裤开始流行。近年来cigarette trousers又开始流行起来，并且被职场白领，尤其白领女性接受，成了正装了。
