第612期：如果跳槽，你拿到你的golden hello了吗？
先讲一件数年前佛老的亲身经历。
那年佛老决定跳槽，面试了好像有三家企业，等消息。
接到猎头电话的那天我正在韩国仁川出差，猎头说有一家企业决定要我，要给我offer，问我还有没有什么问题。我说我需要跟我的私人律师（我老婆啦）商量一下再答复。
晚上跟老婆商量了一下，觉得那家企业不错，决定接受offer.
第二天给猎头打电话，结果因为我在仁川机场的控制区内，信号不好，电话打不通，短信也发不出。于是想晚上再联系猎头。
结果您猜怎么着？
那家雇主很急，听猎头说我还要考虑一下，以为我对薪水还不满意，于是主动又给我加了一笔“签约奖金“(signing bonus)，入职后六个月试用期满一次性打入我的账户。
这个signing bonus就是我们今天要讲的 golden hello.

Golden hello is an extra payment that is given to someone for accepting a new job; it is a sum of money that a company offers to a person in order to persuade them to join the company.
很多欧美企业会根据情况给某些职位的candidate一笔这样的现金，目的就是希望进一步刺激 ta 赶快接受job offer，别被别人抢走了。但也不是所有职位所有公司都会给你golden hello的。
佛老当年拿到那个golden hello时，顿时觉得自己像一个世纪紧缺人才，全国十大杰出青年似的 — oh man it feels goooooood.
其实我当时那笔小钱实在不算什么啦，2014年苹果公司(Apple)一次性给原Burberry老板(Angela Ahrendts)的入职签约奖金是6800万美元！这是迄今为止世界商业历史上最高golden hello的记录。
大多数外企在招聘高管（C-suit）时还会专门在他们的雇佣合同里加一个条款，承诺如果他们加入后，如果未来因为公司并购、重组或其他原因导致他们失业，公司会赔他们一笔钱，这笔赔偿在英语中叫作 golden handshake （黄金握手）.
A golden handshake is a clause in an executive employment contract that provides the executive with a significant severance package in the case that the executive loses their job through firing, restructuring, or even scheduled retirement.
还有一个词跟golden handshake意思很接近，叫 golden parachute（黄金降落伞）。
A golden parachute is an agreement between a company and an
employee (usually upper executive) specifying that the employee will
receive certain significant benefits if employment is terminated.
Golden handshake和golden parachute意思很像，但包含的内容不太一样。一般来说，golden handshake比golden parachute更优厚。
外企里还有一个词：golden handcuffs（黄金手铐）
意思没字面那么可怕啦，跟手铐没关系。Golden handcuffs 指的是有些公司给员工的特殊福利或津贴，例如employee stock options（配给员工的股票期权），目的是为了留住某些关键人才，防止这些人才跳槽。这种特殊福利通常需要在公司工作满一定年限后才能获得或兑现，以此达到挽留人才的目的。
在这个golden week，我们今天讲了四个golden的词汇。
Golden handshake 和 golden parachute咱们一般人还没到那个级别去考虑，那是仅适用于外企C-level的高管的。
但如果你正准备跳槽，我建议你可以了解一下你的目标雇主会不会给你一笔golden hello，进去后会不会有什么 golden handcuffs.
最后，提一下“跳槽”这个词。现在我们总说跳槽跳槽，好像很正常。但如果放在明清两朝，跳槽这个词可不是咱们一般人能说的。那是风化场所的专用术语，有两个意思：一是指妓女离开老嫖客去榜新嫖客；二是指嫖客厌倦了老妓女去找新相好了。
明代冯梦龙编的民歌集《桂枝儿》里就 有一首名叫《跳槽》的歌，歌中的青楼女子哀 婉地唱道：“你风流，我俊雅，和你同年少；两 情深，罚下愿，再不去跳槽。”句中的“跳槽” 就是指风月场中男女另寻新欢的行为。
不过，语言在变迁，今日“跳槽”已经没了那层意思。
