第1086期：怎样用英语精确传神地表达“葛优躺”？

葛优躺不用解释了。

怎么把这种姿势传神地用英语表达呢？大概有很多不同方式，今天只教你一个最简单的小词：drape.

看个例句：

The boys are draped all over the couch. The girls have arranged themselves in tiny, tidy roly-poly piles on the floor. 男孩子们横七竖八地滩在沙发上，女孩儿们整齐地散坐在地板上。（*roly-poly形容胖墩墩的人）

Drape 作名词时常常作为 curtain 的同义词，都是窗帘，尽管两者有细微的不同。简单地说 drape 比 curtain更厚重。你家卧室里的窗帘如果有一层薄遮光帘，可以叫 curtain，外面那层厚的就叫 drape. （这两个小词的细微区别此不赘述，那是中学英语老师的工作。）

Drape 作动词时意思是“搭”指那种随意地把什么东西搭在什么东西上，就像你每天下班回了家随手把外套搭在沙发上或椅背上那样。这个动作就叫 drape.

例如天冷时你的长围巾 – You wear a long scarf draped around your neck.

上面这个例句中就用了这层意思，形容人的身体随意地搭/滩在沙发上的慵懒的样子，我认为非常传神。

这层意思可以用英语解释为 place casually，或者 to put a part of your body on or over something in a relaxed way.

例如：

The cat draped herself on the sofa.

She sat with one leg draped over the arm of the chair. 把脚翘在椅背上，这个动作也可以用 drape 来表达。

最后想起一句生活大爆炸里 Sheldon 说的话：

Well, I’m just playing tennis against the drapes here.
