nest是鸟和鸡的窝、巢，nest egg是什么意思呢？

他要是看了这个词，肯定说是“窝蛋”。
Nest egg字面意思是“鸟巢里的鸟蛋”或“鸡窝里的鸡蛋”，真实的意思是“积蓄”。

先看英语释义：

– A nest egg is usually a retirement account, a fund you add to regularly so your savings grows every year.

– Colloquial term for a sum of money or funds set aside for purposes like retirement, university tuitions

最简单的英语释义是：an amount of money that you have saved so that you can use it for something special in the future.

解释得很准确。

这个词最早出现于1700年前后，最初的意思就是retirement savings.
