第499期：Be on time, Lombardi time. 兰巴迪时间

你戴手表吗？估计不带。三十年前可能谁也想不到手机时代最大的受害者是手表制造商。我们今天讲的这个话题跟手表有关，准确地说是跟时间有关。

讲一个名人的故事。

此人姓兰巴迪，名文斯，(Vince Lombardi). 在美国无人不知无人不晓。你随便问一个美国人，即便他不知道迈克尔乔丹或科比，也一定会知道这位传奇神仙级人物文斯·兰巴迪。（为行文之便，下文中皆以Lombardi代称Vince Lombardi）。

美国的国球是橄榄球，俗称美式足球(American football)。生于1913年的Lombardi在1930年代成为美国橄榄球专业运动员和教练。他辉煌人生的巅峰不是作运动员，而是教练。

1960年代七年间，他带领美国威斯康辛州的绿湾包装工人队（the Green Bay Packers)拿了美国职业橄榄球大联盟(NFL)三连冠，一共五次冠军。1967年和1968年的头两届超级碗(Super Bowl)均为这支球队获得。

超级碗是美国职业橄榄球赛的最高荣誉奖杯，类似足球世界杯的大力神杯。1970年9月，Lombardi死于癌症。NFL于是决定把超级碗奖杯命名为the Lombardi Trophy（兰巴迪杯）。

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is the trophy awarded each year to the winning team of the National Football League’s championship game, the Super Bowl.

就是这么一个超级大神。

关于Lombardi有很多传奇故事，其中流传最广的是他对时间的要求。

在他传奇的执教生涯中，他始终要求所有队员必须提前15分钟到达会议或约会现场。如果5点开会，你必须4:45之前到。如果你5点准时到，you are late. 这就是兰巴迪时间，the Lombardi time.

他的手表永远比实际时间早15分钟。

Lombardi always taught his players and coaching staff they should arrive
fifteen minutes early to a meeting or an appointment. This extra time
allows you to prepare and collect your thoughts. If a team meeting
started at 5:00, Lombardi expected everyone to be present at 4:45. If a
player arrived on time, he was late. Many of former Green Bay players
and coaching assistants claimed that “Lombardi Time” taught them
discipline and helped them to appreciate how the value of their time.

兰巴迪时间的理念后来被很多MBA教程吸收，成了很多成功人士终生坚持的习惯。

Operate on Lombardi time.

Be on time, Lombardi time.

这两句话成了职场上非常高端的两个口号。
