第845期：你公司的go-to person是谁？你老板的golden boy又是谁？

你公司有没有这样的同事？

一遇到难事大家都会不约而同想到找他来处理？就像你的电脑一出问题你就打电话给IT部门的某某一样。

这种人大多是某个领域的专家，或者在某方面能力很强的人。

英语中有个词专指这种能人——the go-to person，或者the go-to guy.

A go-to guy is a person whose knowledge of something is considerable so
everyone wants to go to him or her for information or results.

这种人就是艰难时刻大家都想到的那个人，能解决问题，力挽狂澜的那个人。

例如：

He was the company’s go-to guy for new ideas. 他是公司新创意（点子）最多的人。

He was everyone’s go-to guy for computer problems. 电脑一出问题，每个人都会找他帮忙。

Go-to guy都是能在危急关头力挽狂澜或者艰难时刻解决问题的那个人。

你想到了谁？不限于公司的环境。

例如体育界的Michael Jordan绝对是一个go-to guy，他不仅是一个三分球投手(three pointer)，还能在比赛结束前几秒钟内狂奔投篮改写胜负比分。

乔丹这类人天生就是difference makers. 他们总是在那些 do-or-die moments作出惊人的壮举改变全局，they answer the call and make the right decision at the right time.

然而，go-to guy 能干是能干，但公司里混得好的却不一定是他们。

天下公司一般黑，会干活的不如会说话的，哪里都一样。

每个公司都有一些能说会道，专门溜须拍马走上层路线擅长伺候老板的人。这些人往往都混得风生水起，比那些 go-to guys好多了。

这种人在英语中有很多称号，我喜欢叫他们 apple polishers（给老师洗苹果的马屁精学生）。

但话又说回来了，人都是有偏好的。老板喜欢的人也不一定都是靠溜须拍马上去的，有些人老板一见就喜欢，有些人老板一看就头疼。

这也是人性吧。谁都有前世的冤家、仇敌和恩人。也看人与人之间的chemical是否契合。

如果你公司里有人是老板的红人，可以称ta为 the boss’ golden boy/girl（宠儿）。

看个例句：

It was no surprise that Frankie got the promotion. Everyone knows he’s the boss’s blue eyed boy.

*blue-eyed boy/girl is an often derogatory term used to describe a man who is respected and treated especially well by an authority figure.

注意：Primarily heard in UK, Australia.

这个说法一般只在英国和澳洲英语中使用，在美国英语中有一个对应的说法，稍有不同，叫 fair-haired boy/girl，意思基本一样。

*Fair-haired 意思是金色头发的。
