第878期：今天的世界更需要 Michael Jackson

这位被称为”King of pop”的歌手、舞者，可能很难再被后人超越。
今天这篇短文，献给迈克尔·杰克逊。
我第一次听到Michael Jackson是在1993年，歌名都不记得了，但记得那时候的大学校园里常有某些男生宿舍大开着窗，里面传出疯狂的音乐。那个年代，校园里最流行的是Beyond, 黑豹、唐朝、Michael Jackson.
英语中说谁是你的偶像，有很多种说法，常见的说法例如：
Michael Jackson is my idol.
I worship Michael Jackson.
I am crazy about Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is my first celebrity crush.
我不能说Michael Jackson是我的偶像，但我一直很喜欢他的音乐。
Michael Jackson的头衔不多，他留给世界的称号主要是三个：American singer, dancer, songwriter.
一个人能以这三个身份被世界记住已经很了不起了。
我还看到有些网站把他称为 vocalist，简单提一句 vocalist 和 singer的区别。
用最简单的话解释，vocalist 就是 classical singer. 一般唱歌的可以统称为 singer,只有那些在传统音乐节目中演唱的歌手才能叫 vocalist.
All vocalists can be singers but all singers cannot be vocalists.
Michael Jackson本人最得意的作品是Heal the World，收录在他第八章专辑Dangerous中，1991年发行。
他对这首歌的创作最满意，认为是自己最好的作品。并且还创建了一个慈善基金会 Heal the World Foundation.
好像就是从1990年代初期开始，Michael Jackson的创作开始转向宏大的社会命题，人类、和平、博爱、环保、种族、战争、和平。
1991年，专辑Dangerous的第一首歌是Black or White.
1995年，他的第九章专辑History中有一首歌”Earth Song”，第一次涉及环保主题。
这个专辑里有一首歌 They Don’t Care About us，是他所有音乐作品中最有争议性的。
其实在佛老看来没什么好争议的，这首歌被定位为一首 protest song，有点过度解读了。
今天端午节，正赶上Michael Jackson的去世纪念日。就与屈大夫一起纪念吧。
在今天这个纷扰的世界，好像我们更需要Michael Jackson多一些。
